Valve really going against the grain and implementing actually great features instead of AI or some subscription shit.
Steam Deck
A place to discuss and support all things Steam Deck.
Replacement for r/steamdeck_linux.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:
[Flair] My post title
The following is a list of suggested flairs:
[Discussion] - General discussion.
[Help] - A request for help or support.
[News] - News about the deck.
[PSA] - Sharing important information.
[Game] - News / info about a game on the deck.
[Update] - An update to a previous post.
[Meta] - Discussion about this community.
Some more Steam Deck specific flairs:
[Boot Screen] - Custom boot screens/videos.
[Selling] - If you are selling your deck.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.
Rules:

- Posts must be related to the Steam Deck in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
- This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.
- Have fun.
I will say that I'm a little surprised it took this long, I was surprised when this "feature" didn't come out at launch lol
Is this really what's considered a "great feature?"
Why do I need everyone to know I'm playing on my Steam Deck? I mean it's not bad, but it seems more like a footnote than a feature.
So my friends won't invite me to play when I'm on the go. No idea if it works on desktop mode though.
This is the result of valve being a private company. If it was a public company it would of been bought my Microsoft and introducing 50 new AI features
Now we just need a "Sent from my Steam Deck" footer for all our chat messages.
Lol
Sent from my SteamDeck
Penguins gotta brag
Might as well
Sent from my PSP3000
Let’s go, I have been asking for this feature for ages.
Praying they release a steam deck mini
Glad I'm not the only one wishing for that
I would love a tiny, light Deck that can run indies and remote-play bigger games.
Wonder if they'll add support for other handhelds
