This is a dish from my childhood in Russia. The stew is made of cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, kielbasa (or hot dogs), and tomato paste with some basic spices. You can also add pickles and olives.

Looks good. Do you use onion, garlic, or celery too? As far as spices....my guess would be bay leaf and pepper, at a minimum. Anything else?

I might have to give this a try. Looks pretty easy. Probably just brown the sausage, saute the veggies for a few minutes, add a little stock/broth, and cook until the veggies are done.

I used garlic, bay leaf, pepper, and some paprika. You can use stock/broth, water, or even beer to thin it out.

Smoked sausage in a stew is a great template. I think many cuisines have a similar concept. This one looks great!

Oh my lard soylanka is my absolute favorite soup! I love to add pickle brine and sour cream to mine. I never thought of making it into a stew, great idea to switch it up.
