General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

Disgusting. Still would vote labour over the tories, but as a disabled person who can’t work due to illness, I feel every major party just wants me to choose assisted suicide and “stop stealing hardworking people’s money”.

I do wonder what use they will have for their massive majority with such a watered down manifesto.

Oh look, it's this NHS conspiracy theory again.

Keep saying it, one of these years it might happen!

Like I keep saying, Labour has been drifting further right over the last....ages. The Tories and Labour are now essentially two sides of the same coin. Their tag line really is correct, we need a change, but not to Torie lite.

We need PR. These super broad church parties don't fit society. You should be able to vote for the party you want to be in power, rather than against the one you don't want. The current Tory massive majority was won with around 43% of the vote. That should mean they have 43% of the representatives.

at this point we should just list the pledges labour actually kept. it'd be shorter.
