Isn't that Mario's own Burger joint, judging by the logo over the door?

He’s doing an undercover boss scenario.

Mario is willing to overlook the blatant copyright infringement because their fries are so dank, but he draws the line at goddamn pickles on a burger

He's just in cosplay for his favorite restaurant

I get the meme and all, but assuming Mario is representative of a cis man, isn’t this reinforcing a really bad stereotype; men who never fully mature find a partner who will act as their mom?

Nah, some people just really suck at being assertive (and/or have really bad social anxiety).

[–] BmeBenji@lemm.ee 10 points 5 months ago

Oh, yeah that’s fair

I feel like if somebody has horrible social anxiety, your partner complaining for you, in front of you, probably ain't much better. I know I would find the situation embarrassing as hell.

That's true, but sometimes I definitely need a little push from someone in situations like this.

get him, boy!

Sometimes one person in the relationship is way better at something or the other person doesn't like doing it. Letting his strong gf step in for him is the real sign of maturity. He doesn't need to prove himself and appreciates his gf when she takes on that dominant role.

No pickles? Get out!
