I mean... No need to be an expert in urban planning or architecture to see this project makes absolutely no practical sense. It's merely one more totalitarian leader's lunatic dick contest.

Great for parades though!
To be fair, they’re clearly trying to optimize for minimal distance to the city edge instead of maximal connectivity within the city. I have no idea why that would be a good thing, but that’s what criticism of the plan should address.
I have no knowledge of city planning, architecture, or anything related to building such a massive structure, yet I struggle to see how this isn't a terrible idea.
