Almost done with Control right now. It's a really good game. A little too creepy though!

[–] DharkStare@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Control is one of my favorite games. Everything about it was excellent. I'm so glad they're making a sequel.

[–] idusces@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Control is one of my all time favs, only one of three games I've ever 100%'d on steam.

Having a blast with FF XVI. It's definitely one of the most polished of recent games, everything just looks and plays fantastic. Even if the game is super shallow as soon as you do anything other than the main story. The fantastic voice of Ralph Ineson is the cherry on top.

[–] HoloTheWolf@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Agree with you on the polish of FF16, but not so much on the side quests. I find that some of them - not all - add a little extra to the main quest line. But I'm also finding everything in the game to be pretty enjoyable.

Right now, Battlebit Remastered (which I just bought). Despite being not that good at the gunplay yet, I'm doing well and having fun just playing a medic and dragging people out of the line of fire for revives and heals. Highlight of today was frantically healing everyone in a full chopper while we dueled an enemy chopper over a capture point, with the pilot micspamming Pirates of the Caribbean music the whole time. Really brings me back to the good ol days of multiplayer lobbies (without a lot of the casual bigotry - game seems pretty good at actually banning it so far).

Kingdom Eighties, it came out today and it's a little bit of a spinoff from the traditional kingdom games, quite fun tho!

[–] Botree@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Currently playing Death Stranding and feeling fit from the amount of virtual walking and carrying I've done. Next in queue is Everspace 2.

Completely burned out, but I occasionally play Death Stranding, because that bad boy knows how to keep everything tight. I'm thinking about delving into the world of emulation, maybe some TRPGs - will see.

Lemmy. It's a pretty nice minigame whilst between breaks.

...

what?

[–] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Nah this is a legit answer.

Grounded and Cities Skylines

[–] Voytrekk@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I have been finishing up Tunic. The game is fantastic and I love seeing all of the small little things that have been accessible the whole time that I have since gained the knowledge to interact with.

[–] vgfn@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Beat the Miles Morales game recently. Got 100% completion too. Not often I ever complete a game either. Still got a ways to go with Tears of the Kingdom, and then probably a return to Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. I've gotta beat that game and I can finally play KH2 with a clear conscience.

Steam Deck:

  • This means warp (co-op rogue-like that's pretty fun)
  • Dicey Dungeons

PC:

  • Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
  • Guild Wars 2
[–] garrettz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Wrapping up Hollowknight, finished up elden ring before that. Looking to try out FFXVI.

Was wanting to check out the jedi games too.

[–] narp@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Black Mesa.

I started with Half Life 2 and played a lot of Counter Strike back in the days. This brings back memories even if I never played it and it's way better than I thought, too!

[–] GlowHuddy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

God of war on the SteamDeck ^^ I remember when it was a PS4 exclusive and I really wanted to play it. It feels incredible to be able to play, while holding the whole machine in my hands.

[–] ninbreaker@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Daggerfall Unity and Morrowind on OpenMW. Those games got me more hooked than Skyrim

[–] techtalkf@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Legend of Zelda BoTW. Trying to 100% to game before I start playing ToTK.

Still playing Tears of the Kingdom.

I will launch up Tactic Ogre Reborn when I'm traveling. Working on endgame right now in that one.

[–] Papaw@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Just started Final Fantasy 16 today! Not very far in yet but I am enjoying it. Seems a little easy so far though but at least the combat looks cool lol

[–] Xylinna@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Currently playing Octopath 2. It’s has some interesting plot points and I like the turn based combat system and has a great nostalgia style for old pixel games.

[–] Gatsby@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Been kinda burned out on videogames, I've been playing tears of the kingdom but I got the master sword about two weeks ago and haven't gone back to the game since.

Still play Dungeons and Dragons twice a week

[–] Mulkor@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Recently became a father and regained my love for my Switch, since it allows me to play in short bursts and pause whenever and wherever I need to. I'm currently playing through Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and loving it.

[–] ultrasquid@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

I'm not usually a fan of triple a games, but I bought Doom Eternal yesterday and its been really good so far.

[–] giacomo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Signalis - grabbed it on sale and playing through on steam deck.

Stellaris - I've spent too much time building empires only to lose interest in mid/late game.

[–] TheSpookiestUser@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Re: Stellaris - me too, and I bet a lot of other people as well. It has what my friend group calls "the Civilization problem"; the initial setup and expansion is by far more interesting than the late game when things are more static. Stellaris does it better than the Civ games, in my opinion (mid and late game crises and events help), but still falls into the same trap. I'm not really sure how this could be solved, but maybe something like late-game expansion opportunities (like the L cluster, but more) and more robust internal politics and espionage could help.

I've been playing Battlebit Remastered on Steam and holy shit while it looks awful it's one of the funnest FPS I have played in a while. Super fun, super smooth, and scratches the COD itch from when I was a kid. I HIGHLY reccomend it!

Also Tears of the Kingdom.

[–] teft@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's the low poly shooter right? That actually looks pretty fun. I'll have to try it.

[–] SPOOSER@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah I was hesitant at first because of the low poly but the gameplay is top tier.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance, I started playing AC:Syndicate too. I just want to try to play the games I've been meaning to get to before Starfield and CP2077:Phantom Liberty release because then I will have no time at all for any other games.

[–] rodbiren@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just got Battlebit. Really reminds me of the good ol BF2 and BF bad company. Just a fun time.

Final Fantasy XVI, and it's consuming my thoughts to a degree that surprises me, considering I haven't really liked one of those games since FFX. I've already put 15 hours on it since Friday (quite a bit for me, I don't get very much time to game these days). It really is incredible; I haven't had this much fun with a game since probably Read Dead II. I'm also playing Battlebit Remastered on the rare occasion that my friends and I are able to game at the same time.
I travel for work so on my laptop I installed Fallout 4 with a modpack obtained through Wabbajack installer (Welcome to Paradise) and I'm playing through as a melee-only knight. I'm using console commands to stock up on stimpacks and radaway so that I don't have to stop and loot since I've played this game several times; I can just run around like a madman with a sword, slicing legions of enemies apart. Playing it as an action game has been a ton of fun.

Also nice username/pic @Teft, I'm a big Stormlight Archives fan.

As far as singleplayer games go, I‘m playing Slay the Spire! I‘ve never played it much before (just modded meme classes) and it finally clicked with me!

[–] kaffiene@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Fantastic game!

Warframe: Really loving the Duviri update. I'm an old player but there's suddenly a reason to build out a lot of weapons that I've mostly ignored beyond Mastery farming. Fortunately, I kept everything so the only issue is having enough forma.

Minecraft: Randomly wanted to play it again (heavily modded, All the Mods 8, I have to scratch that automation itch). Haven't played in ages, so pillagers were a vanilla surprise and so was the fact you can now dig past y=0 (along with the new interesting caves and berries). In the end, though, I'm still a dirty melon farmer that subsists solely off my melons.

Kenshi: I also started Kenshi a bit ago. It's an interesting game, but it's certainly a slow burn which I don't necessarily like. I'm up to 10 characters now, but only two of them can handle combat with any degree of competency and everyone else keeps falling over from the slightest breeze. I'm currently just living out of Squin until enough passing by herbivores get stomped that my team can handle real combat. Fortunately, mining is extremely lucrative so I don't have to worry about food.

I've been stuck on All The Mods 8 (Minecraft "kitchen sink" modpack) for the last week or two. Kinda just caveman-ing my way through all the quests. Playing with Minecolonies and setting up an RFTools Builder in the mining dimension so I don't have to manually mine most resources any more. I keep meaning to get back into ComputerCraft, maybe that's my objective for this evening.

[–] Hanhula@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

How stable is ATM8? It's been a while since I tried running one of the ATM packs, but I remember having some serious lag issues.

Atomic Heart. This game is amazing. It's been such a long time since we had a high budget single player fps with level design that not linear corridors and that are highly innovative in terms of architecture and style. Plus the fact that it's one of the best looking games out there, and there's lot of diversity (enemy styles, upgrades, puzzle rooms, weird story, etc). I nearly skipped it completely because of the Russian aspect, glad I came back to it. Fyck Putin for nearly making me miss on this awesome product. The only negative I have to say about it is the damn respawning resurrecting robots.

[–] teuast@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Last night I finished getting all of the author medals for all of the campaign tracks for Trackmania Nations Forever. I really enjoyed E01 and E04 after I got the hang of them, I needed a podcast for E05, and E02 and E03 can eat my ass.

[–] linkinkampf19@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Mostly PC based stuff. Currently just started Unpacking, chill little cozy game. Been playing Voidigo for my fun twitch shooter fill. American/Euro Truck Simulator in VR for my sit back and drive fill. Skyrim VR for immersion.

[–] EchoCranium@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 year ago

7 Days to Die. Basic zombie survival game. Friends and I set up a server and have been playing on and off for the past 2 years. The latest alpha version (A21) came out recently, so started playing again.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'm an old lady so I'm playing farm tycoon on switch and Kairosoft's dream town island on my phone.

[–] DaveFuckinMorgan@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Zelda link between worlds.

[–] MiddleWeigh@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I have skyrim running on a janky PC. Haven't played it in a little bit, but I'm always about to lol. Soon enough.

[–] DharkStare@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I'm still working through Tears of the Kingdom.

I've also been playing the boardgame, Wingspan.

[–] withdrawn@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I'm deep into the second act of Ghost of Tsushima and I'm completely baffled how I missed this game when it came out. It's absolutely beautiful in every way possible
