I played chess in HS and sat table 1. One tournament an argument broke out about en passant... The other team player used it and our guy thought it was illegal. I took him aside and politely told him to stop, it's legal. He looked at me as if I was on the take from the opponents

You cannot, afaik, I just didn't recognise the states listed as where the st Louis chess club might be located, but I didn't know what state it was in.
