'GameImage' is super useful for getting finicky non-Steam games running on Deck

So just for my understanding, what's the benefit of getting the game running on desktop first, rather than just setting things up on the Deck itself? If you're doing this for several games does it not mean you're creating multiple copies of the emulator within each appimage and taking up more space?
