Yeah, I can see it in the lighting/backdrop and the mostly solid-color dresses (even before getting to the fact that RuPaul and Björk have unusual enough looks to pass as different species of rubber-forehead alien).
The main thing that gives it away as not Star Trek is that that the dresses are a little too modest, LOL.
I never knew that about TOS but it now makes a lot of things make a lot of sense.
Also everyone beware, it's a TV Tropes link. Maybe save this post and come back to it on a long car ride...
