Okay I'm planning to build a sffpc for couch gaming. I'm building around the a1p case. But it was ages since my last build so I wanted to get some input for the build. I don't really know which games I will be playing but I want to be able to run new and old ones ๐Ÿ˜

Would really appreciate thoughts and tips!

Ok hear me out.... Steam deck and the dock. 4 8bitdo controllers and a Logitech wireless kb/mouse combo.

Use Firefox as a non steam app for Plex, Spotify, streaming site of choice etc....all the artwork is available. Spend a few minutes to map the controllers so you can use them on those non steam apps and you're golden.

This is the setup I have and it works pretty well. My family got to grips with any little annoyances pretty well.

Oh really interesting. I'm gonna do some research about this approach! Thanks

If you go this route, let me know if you have any questions on how to set some of it up. SteamOS is pretty great as a media center that's gaming focused.

For stuff that doesn't work great as a non steam app, you can boot into the desktop mode, which is just kde on immutable arch

If you can find it, get a case that fits your space and can fit a full height graphics cards. It's hard enough finding the right graphics card. Being limited to half height is extremely limiting.

Thanks! I will consider a buigger ssd ๐Ÿ˜„

Noctua cooler is overkill for a 5600. If you dont mind a tiny bit more noise, the stock cooler is fine
