Removing all of their institutional memory during an election year. Strong work.

[–] Evilcoleslaw@lemmy.world 39 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Hopefully they funnel every dollar the RNC has at his legal bills instead of any election campaigning and hamstrings the party down-ballot.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 16 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I'm hoping they go to the fines and damages he owes. At least then it's not lining the pockets of shitty lawyers.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Hah, like trump pays his lawyers.

[–] Wodge@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

Or his fines.

Drain that swamp?

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 5 points 6 months ago

Wiping away what scraps of diligence and record keeping they had little as it may seem

You mean that the experienced staff, whose jobs were to make sure that campaign finance laws are followed, are all let go, for some unfathomable reason? I wonder who they can get to replace them?

This doesn't mean shit if Trump wins the Presidency.

But if he loses, this will seriously harm the RNC's ability to support any Republican candidates after this year.

[–] 5too@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Slowing them down after this is a plus, sure; but I'm still hung up on this: what would this let him get away with?

[–] CyberDine@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago

Trump is in full control of RNC spending. Money coming in, money going out, it all flows through Trump.

You can't be a Republican candidate without professing fealty to him.

Trump also has an MO which is give me everything, I give you nothing, so it's suspect that he'll use all funding for all candidates to line his own pockets which won't allow any other Republicans to compete in any of their races.

The danger to Republicans is that after this year if Trump doesn't secure the Presidential nomination, all funding still goes to Trump, and Republicans are still kissing the ring of a man who holds no power outside of his undying support by 30% of voting Americans and his connection to Putin.

What this tells me personally is that Republicans are all in on a Trump 2025 presidency, and my beliefs are that the rich and elite are too.

I'm fairly concerned for the General election and expect a few more Biden attacks, Russian disinformation, and an economic crash all to attempt to sink Biden below Trump

I fucking love it. Downballot races: starve from the self inflicted famine you utter fucking nonces

I feel so sorry for those worker… oh wait. These are RNC folk. Basically just below cops in terms of being workers I would not support. Fuck them. I hope they never find work again. Fucking fascists.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 25 points 6 months ago

. . . more than 60 RNC staffers who work across the political, communications and data departments will be let go.

republiQans, you damned stupid bastards. Well, hey, it's what you wanted. I'm sure you're lovin' it. Actually, I'm sure you have no clue this is going on, and wouldn't know what it meant anyway.

[–] Jaysyn@kbin.social 21 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Fewer staffers means more money for Trump's legal bills 🤣🤣🤣🤣

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

A lot of truth is said in jest

[–] Starkstruck@lemmy.world 17 points 6 months ago

Trump draining the RNC of all its funds and power just to save his own ass would be a poetic end to this all.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 14 points 6 months ago

was “in the process of evaluating the organization and staff to ensure the building is aligned”

Well there it is. Basically eliminating criticism, kiss my ass or you’re out. Nice little purge on the small scale foreshadowing what he’d do as president.

Face eating leopards are eating good tonight!

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 13 points 6 months ago

For those wondering why Trump can't be allowed to take office again... here you go!

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 10 points 6 months ago

I was hoping for an actual bloodbath, this is just infighting and the consolidation of power. Hoping it fucking cripples the RNC.

[–] Sludgehammer@lemmy.world 7 points 6 months ago

Oh no, my face!

[–] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 6 months ago

Seems like we should get the investigations started now and save some time on the other end, eh?

[–] superfes@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Huh, guess it's just one more thing to bankrupt...
