It's so fucking annoying when a popular sub has or gets compromised mods, for any type of propaganda.

Also, fuck Putin.

Sounds like r/politics is more your jam.

Ok I guess. Lemmy is actually not to bad now that most of its users are normal people. A political sub is always going to be bias.

If you don't like it just don't be a part of the community. There is no need to argue with people online. Your mental health will be better anyway.

That's fair but I think we all have a responsibility to fight against authoritarianism, censorship, and the dismantling of democracy.

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes but arguing on the internet does nothing most of the time

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Eh. In aggregate I think it does a lot. Being a strong voice pushing back against propaganda helps. Being silent cedes the airwaves to those who wish to manipulate and silence us.

Waaaaa community mods don't have same political views as me.

This is the fediverse, go create your own politics community and you can ban "tankies" and enforce your own political views to your hearts content.

I love that OP got bored arguing across many different threads, so just invited everyone here to comb through his mod log and start all the arguments over all over again, in one place.

Not my intent, but surprisingly effective

People, I'm begging you...

Edit: Wait, hang on. I just realized I interacted with this account a few days ago. They told me Obama wasn't conservative because he didn't strip gay people of their rights; I pointed out that Obama didn't support gay marriage until his second term, and that he didn't actually do anything to legalize gay marriage, a conservative leaning Supreme Court did. They then called me privileged and said they couldn't address my idiocy (or something along those lines).

Anyway, I think I know what happened with this guy and the, "tankie," mods.

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

I mean yeah, calling Obama a conservative is worthy of a mental health evaluation at least. If you truly believe that. Which I doubt.

"Democrats and Republicans are equally bad" is at least a tankie-adjacent argument.

[–] AshMan85@lemmy.world 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Bet you don't know what the actual definition of a tankie is lol

[–] hark@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Obviously the definition is "people who disagree with me".

putin

tankies

You really are as bright as a box of wet matches.

Let me guess, you're a centrist.

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 7 months ago

I think you missed the point.
