Talk about whatever, respecting the rules established by Lemmygrad. Failing to comply with the rules will grant you a few warnings, insisting on breaking them will grant you a beautiful shiny banwall.

Community, sure, instance, that might be a bit overboard.

the point of it would be to be a queer-friendly instance as opposed to the radlib/bigoted Blahaj instance that already exists

Is there specific meaning for the "blahaj" word? Search told me it's a relatively cute plushie from IKEA.

[–] WIthoutFurtherDelay@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

The plushie has vaguely trans-flag like colors, and is cute, and due to random circumstance become a meme in trans spaces on the internet. It quickly spread like wildfire and is arguably a trans symbol.

As of now, there is an instance that calls itself “blahaj-zone” (or something similar, I forgot), but appears to be staunchly liberal, to the point of banning people with radically leftist views. Hence my idea

Yeah i know that blahaj is radlib, i even put a post about the 196 community mod, something like 80% of total ban log on entire lemmy was this guy banning everyone who even remotely resemble ML.

I didn't know about the plushie being trans symbol, but it makes it even worse since they ban literally the most trans-accepting people on the internet.

Isn't the 196 mod (over on reddit, presumably they're also on the blahaj zone) a chaser? (And not the cool, old Toyota)

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Afaik reddit 196 mods are also radlibs though idk personally i was never there. I meant specifically 196 on blahaj. Though i noticed the 196 on lemmy.world is also moderated by radlib who bans ML's.

Yeah just would be the icing on the cake if they're not even trans and in fact are exactly the cis assholes who objectify us. Or at least, those of us who fit their fetish.

tak tylko dodam, bo amerykańce często popełniają ten błąd xdd, na rekinka mówi się blohaj a nie blaharz xddd

EDIT: o kurwa mam pomysł na mema Xd

Isn't an instance a new website? Is that really needed, couldn't it just be created on an existing one?

[–] WIthoutFurtherDelay@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

it’s not strictly needed, but having an entire instance for queer people seems reasonable, as it would then be a site with different subject matters and communities but you would know they’re always friendly to queer people no matter what

you raise a good point, though

I mean, I think it would be better to try make it on this instance or something similar. A LGBT instance could work though I guess.

[–] Ciel@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 1 year ago

The whole point of federations is that many small instances can work together. Lemmy needs more instances. There is enough lgbt commies for an instance of it's own. Thus we should make that instance.

[–] Ciel@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would join you with that

Sweet! I'll look into doing it, no guarantees though unfortunately

[–] WhatWouldKarlDo@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 year ago

A new instance seems extreme. But perhaps warranted. I would think that a new community on an existing instance (such as lemmy.world) would be better. Most of the ~~spam~~ posts in my feed are from 196. It's going to be hard to compete with that from an entirely new instance.

Trans and communist go together like pickles and estrogen though. It annoys me to no end that they've kidnapped Blahaj.
