Can someone tell me what proton pass offers that something like bitwarden does not?

This is possible with Bitwarden to, but via third party services, like DDG, Fastmail, Addy and Simple Login.

If true, that would be Bitwarden connected to SimpleLogin, not Bitwarden.
I don't see an option for a 24-month plan.
I see it when I try to subscribe to Pass Plus from the Account page (account.proton.me).
Looks like they have it back wards, or they expect you to pay the 24 months in the first 12 months
