A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

This isn't a shower thought. It's just a personal opinion.

Every damn shower thought is a personal opinion.

unless you're a roman in a roman bath house

I wasn't really sure what you were talking about, so I looked them both up, and I think there's a really good chance your optician gave you Nazi-tinted lenses by mistake.

Shit ton of Nazi talk in the U.S. these days.

Are these nazis in the room with us right now?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago

Very possibly. I'm sitting in a waiting room to get an oil change.

Actual cannibal nazis.

Why is that a bad or worse look than whatever it's supposed to symbolize?

[–] db2@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I see it as blatantly announcing their implicit support for a child molestation ring.

How so?

E: oh right I get it now. I was thinking of the symbol of the German army, not the cross

[–] db2@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

When the German army looks more wholesome... 😬

Maybe that's why the Bible reading for Ash Wednesday services has Jesus telling people to put oil on their heads and wash their faces so that their fasting may be seen not by others.

In general, judging someone for their religious beliefs and practices is a bad look.

Good thing no religions do so.

The German Airforce is probably wondering why you're worked up as the iron cross is the roundel marking on their aircraft. The symbol is associated with Prussian militarism and far predates any Nazi associations in the German Military.

[–] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc -1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Do you see all cross as Iron Cross?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago (2 children)

No. Many of these marks are fat, dark crosses that are very similar to the Iron Cross.

[–] Annoyed_Crabby@monyet.cc 3 points 7 months ago

Did they also specifically draw the edge of the cross this way?

Meh, I associate that mostly as red, from the fire service.
