Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I think it's an important feature for the user's safety. In Boost and many other applications, you can see the full url by holding your finger on a hyperlink. This however does not work on jerboa. I'd be thankful if you could add this feature as I feel stressed whenever I tap on a link that I might get rickrolled.

This is a great idea, especially for safety.

Rif shows a popup with the URL and options to copy or open. While that forces you to see the URL before you open it, I also see that it might be cumbersome if you know it's safe.

As long as you can click a button to not show the popup for that website again, its a good idea

I like the popup on RIF. But maybe it should be optional by having a long press to show the popup.

I also like the way that Boost handles this, as this is what I'm used to.

Or an option to show the url next to hyperlinks

I posted about the exact same thing just 10 hours after this post was submitted. Seems to be a popular wish-list item, and for good reason. https://jerboa@lemmy.ml/post/1285175

It was suggested in my post's replies that I submit this to github, which I have done.

It's a good idea, but [URLCheck] (https://www.f-droid.org/en/packages/com.trianguloy.urlchecker/) is also good for any other app.
