Unless you have some super fancy obscure dual flush, why does the universal 2 or 3 inch flush valves not work? They only really need to fit the hole in the tank. It's all generic gaskets and such.
Unless it's not the flush part that's broken.
It's the flush part. I tried to Google my toilet and came up empty. Took the flusher to my local plumbing parts store and they said you can't get parts for that toilet easily anymore. So maybe he was not telling me the truth (why I'm getting a second opinion on here). To me, it seems like you could just get a generic part for it but I wasn't sure if the hole was a standard size. I gotta go the Home Depot this week for something else so maybe I'll see if they have a universal valve.
Have you looked up your exact toilet? My old toilet lid broke and I found a replacement pretty easy. I know your situation may be different.
For single flush, they are all kinda the same or similar internals as far as flushing mechanism. You can replace the pump etc real easy.
Every 2 button toilet I've seen are all pretty much the same or similar. They aren't really that far off from the old style really, it's just push buttons instead of lever and float.
I don't specialize in plumbing sorry but Imo, you should be able to find whatever you need. You'll either get exact matching parts based on model, or some aftermarket thing. Your model number is usually inside tank on a side wall printed or stamped.
what's the manufacturer?
I believe as long as you buy an American made toilet (assuming youre in America), then yes, they tend to use standard parts that are easy to pick up at the hardware store.
