Kind of a hilarious, yet probably effective marketing strategy.

I like this. It lets the game maker get some $$$ without forcing micro transactions down gamers’ throats.

Of all the capitalistic things that are happening, this one is at least palatable. At least they aren't driving people off their platform.

Smart. I'm rarely ever pro-advertisements but these seem non-intrusive, relevant to the game and only add to the immersion for players.

While i am normally against advertising in games… i mean, its a simulator. There is going to be road side billboards in real life. Probably a very saver move on the trucker companies part.

Honestly i am all ok if real companies are involved with various advertisements in games. That is matching their industries & organizational objectives.

Agreed, sometimes good, tasteful ad placement can add to the experience instead of taking away. Sometimes it's awful too though, I remember my immersion was absolutely vaporized by Coleman being featured prominently in FF15

The implementation can be balanced that it does not disrupt the immersion of the player while suiting the company's brand image.

Honestly this should be done in most titles. Maybe in the future an company makes their product/ service announcement in game? Would be awesome.

Coleman is a real brand!? I legitimately had no idea 😂

I loved FFXV, the only advertisement I outright noticed was Cup Noodles, but that was a SUPER egregious one!

It is! They make camping and outdoor supplies and they're everywhere around where I live. It was such a surreal experience booting up my fantasy game and seeing that brand haha

I remember playing Splinter Cell on the 360 (I thin it was blacklist or double agent) and then suddenly, on top of a skyscraper, you see this absolutely basic and uninteresting city skyline with a fucking Nivea (or some other deodorant brand) logo on top of a cardboard skyscraper in the background.

Tha was... weird

EDIT: found a screenshot, it wasn't as bad as I remembered. Still weird for 10 y.o. me

The ATS/ETS2 to actual trucker pipeline is real lol. If I didn't have to spend weeks away from my family I absolutely would do it myself.

I saw a video of someone who had a full ATS simulator rig in the passenger seat of his actual big rig. It showed him stopping his actual delivery for the day, getting over and booting up the virtual trucking 🤣

I have to see this if someone has a link lol
