It is filled with a bunch of stuff I don't wanna do, but I'm simple if I can play tennis and some video games I'm happy. If the world goes to shit and I can't do either I guess its time to die.

Life is what you pretend it is. A study found that a year after a life changing event (losing a limb/winning a lottery) most people were not any more or less sad.

You can consider that you are a forgotten one of billions of on a tiny speck of rock lost in the vast swathes of space-time and so nothing you do matters.

Or you can consider that all that space-time and other stuff has about as much influence on your life as your life has on it and choose to ignore it and enjoy the life you have free of consequences.

Or anything in between.

The only constant is that life is short. What do you want to do with your limited time?

If this is your way to cheer me up, it's kinda working, lol 🤣. Not because it's not true, but because it's the cold hard truth, and somehow, you thought you're helping 🤣🤣🤣... and you did... I guess... so it's OK 😂.

You know, I kidna liked the previous cheering up part more 😂.

I wanna have more time at my disposal 😂.

Jokes aside, the reality is that I'm stuck in a situation in which I don't want to be, but I have to be... for the greater good... well, mostly the good of a little individual that is my son. And that sucks, so I try and not look at things from a negative stand point, which comes naturally given the circumstances. Though I am prone to depression (the more you know, the sadder you are), it's not how I really am. But, as I said, things are what they are and there is no changing them any time soon, so I'm just trying to make the best of it while this lasts.

The point I was trying to make is you can choose the mood (or the mindset) with which to face your current circumstances.

Either what you face is a situation or a problem. By definition a problem has a solution and a situation does not. If it's a problem (there is a solution) you work on the solution. If it is a situation (there is no solution) you can't change it, so just accept it and move on.

I find that I get joy everyday from the little things - tasty food, good company and nature. I don't let the big things dictate my mood.

The solution to the problem is not benefitial to the little individual. Thus, it's a situation.

I have accepted it, but things are not always easy, and that brings me down sometimes, so I try and look for sources to make me laugh, like Lemmy here... or just get my mind off those things with some interesting article or info, whatever.

I've seen people do it every day and I'm immensly jelous of them. My SO is like this and this is the one thing I'm jelous about.

I've always been like this, ever since I was kid. Never satisfied with little things, always looking at the bigger ones and the bigger picture. It's just a character trait that I don't really like, mostly because it's what makes me sad. But, I try and keep it under control.

Switch that spaghetti out for a pint of ice cream and you're not living the good life

What’s wrong with driving a 98 Corolla? That was the best era for cars.
