I don't get it. What's it supposed to do beyond making me repeat letters? Do you have something that actually explains the intent somewhere?

It measures how fast you can identify the character and type the correct one

That's what it does.

What is the intent? WHY does it do this?

I'm baffled as to what the entire point of this is.

Genetic algorithms are similar to natural selection. This one repeatedly generates random variations of glyphs and applies them if the new glyphs are identified more quickly than the previous ones.

If it works well, then the font will become increasingly legible.
