There was little shelter and barely any services in al-Mawasi when the Abu Hatab family arrived seeking sanctuary from the intensifying bombardment around their homes in Khan Yunis.

But al-Mawasi was the one place they had been told they would be safe. From early November Israel urged the civilian population of Gaza evacuate to the narrow, sandy coastal strip the size of Heathrow airport.

On Wednesday night, the bombardment followed them to the so-called safe zone, when shelling rained down on their flimsy tents as they slept.

"They dropped leaflets and told us to come here, that this was truly the one safe place," Bahaa Abu Hatab, one of the survivors said. "My brother took his children to protect them from the occupation's missiles, but here they were martyred anyway, in this 'safe' place, in the tent that my brother set up in this field."

At least 14 Palestinians, including nine children, were killed in strikes on al-Mawasi early on Thursday, according to the Hamas-run ministry of health in Gaza.

The IDF is a terrorist organization.

Israel is an illegal, fascist, apartheid state.

Nothing has changed since their founding.

The IDF was founded out of three major Zionist terrorist organizations.

And the US governemnt by extension, and actually many "Civilized" governments across the EU and the americas, in addition to the Arab leaders, it's not like we didn't know how terrible they are, but times of need reveal true selves, very clearly, to the public.

Supporters of an act, financially or morally, are 2nd only to the actor.

Edit : by morally I mean through acceptance and encouragement.

Shouldn’t we get their side of the story?

[–] crapwittyname@lemm.ee 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

We know their side: "Blahblah tragic blahblah right to defend ourselves blahblah human shields". Same answer every time they do a war crime.

What if that tent was firing rockets though.

The safe zone must have been a Hamas command centre. Classic Hamas, conveniently building command centres in the spots that would be best to strike if you were doing a genocide instead of a war

Good thing there wasn't a hospital close by or else the idf would have killed 16 kids instead of just 9.

I know we can be in a bit of a bubble here but are the rest of the population really not hearing about this?

They actively claim all Palestinians are Hamas because they refuse to acknowledge that they're supporting active ethnic cleansing.

It's kind of like how conservative voters pretend they aren't supporting very open and blatant bigots.

The only solution is to nuke America. This whole country is a shithole.

[–] veganpizza69@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

No, especially not the ones who need to (Americans).

[–] Machinist3359@kbin.social 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They are getting a huge propaganda push on every advertisment avenue. TV, Hulu,YouTube,TikTok. If you can pay for reach, you're getting Israeli propaganda aimed towards Americans

This was the Reddit front page a day or 2 ago:

They have, but they're voting blue no matter who. Admitting to yourself that you're supporting genocide just so you can vote for genocide again in 4 years is a tough pill to swallow. So they decide that it's not genocide, that Biden is not a fascist too.

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Well with only two options in America I can understand the apparent futility of it all. But still, you can vote the lesser evil while still acknowledging it.

[–] explodicle@local106.com 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Would you pull that lever in the voting machine, knowing full well that they'll do this again? What are we actually winning if we're supporting genocide anyways - genocide on someone else that isn't us?

[–] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Are we just reinventing the trolley problem?

[–] explodicle@local106.com 4 points 10 months ago

Does it still count as a trolley problem if the machine has more than one lever?

The more of these articles acting surprised-pikachu-face that their actions are genocidal the more I realize these media companies are just flat out complicit in the genocide. Sure they're not flat out doing propaganda for the genociders, but still it's pretty much genocide denial.

How many times do you witness "war crime" or "crimes against humanity" or hell, even "genocide" in these reporting. Never. They never do.
