Listen, IBMs numbers have never been better, and look where they were last time.

Is IBM and Intel the same company?

[–] optissima@lemmy.ml 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It's a parallel, tech company supporting the surveillance systems of a fascist state, hoping to score big. The one who has private knowledge of the weaknesses in the systems of a majority of processors, which they developed.

Thanks, I always get confused on their relationship.

  1. Ewww, gross

  2. Why not invest in the US? This is not a political comment, I want to know the reason. Does Israel have weak labor laws or access to slave labor, or some other method to maximize profits?

  3. Given Israel's cyberterrorism and hacking/spyware industry, what is the benefit of producing foundational hardware for computer systems and networks in Israel? Is it Intel's new "Pegasus(TM) ready" line of chips?

I mean the big reason is probably that Israel literally gave them money for it, but yeah they also have cheap Palestinian labor because it's totally not apartheid state.

Everyone needs to boycott them until they pull out.

That seems like a brilliant idea lets invest into a country that is surrounded by people who hate them!

Actually isreal gave them 3 billion and that money is front loaded to infustructure costs im sure, intels "investment" is intel promising to spend 16 billion on Isreal goods and services over 10 years wink wink

and despite that Israel is one of the most technologically advanced in the world. if anything, u should b impressed.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@kbin.social 6 points 6 months ago

I'm impressed at your lack of shame, if anything.

I mean, most intel chips have already come out of Israel and have done so since before the war, so I feel like this investment is just business sense for them and moving doesn't make sense either since they have already spent probably trillions in that facility and training locals and can't just pickup and go elsewhere.

And no, I'm not defending their decision, but I'm not going to attack them either.
