Linus (from Linus Tech Tips) has invested in Framework despite the potential for a conflict of interest.

I like this decision. I really hope this more repairable approach to making laptops will become more popular

I usually can't stand LTT, and this video is ... better than most of them? I was already interested in the framework laptop, and I appreciate this educational approach to his stock disclosure.

Their other video on the Framework is good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rkTgPt3M4k

This video ended up crashing Frameworks website because of so many buy orders lol.

I wish I could figure out what it is about his approach that bothers me so much, so that I could address it and enjoy the rest of the videos they produce.

Regardless, I'm grateful for an ally in the repairable, understandable technology space.

About the most cursed decision I can imagine. Imagine if all the tech media outlets start investing on Intel and AMD with just promises of "not going against values".

It's not like every big review company isn't already taking money for "sponsored stories". In general I agree, but in this case I think Linus has the integrity to make unbiased reviews. I guess time will tell

[–] vis4valentine@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 years ago

But this is a smaller company that is starting. And Intel and AMD already do a lot of sponsored content
