Got some cute cuddles from my cat + woke up while it was snowing.

All I wanted and needed, I am absolute not a materialistic person. I value other stuff like health and so.

Be kind to each other, help each other, that is more a philosophy some people should community - over the entire year. Enjoy and embrace such little things, it is more useful and important than the latest iPhone.

no, serious answer, I don't celebrate Christmas, I so didn't really get anything. But everything is quiet in the area of the city I live in, which is nice. So I guess I'll claim that, a little peace and quiet.

Take care and remember you are not your problems.

[โ€“] a_Ha@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

New & promising psilocybin treatments are being developed ... inducing life changing experiences ! For every problem there is a solution. Take care.

I'm right there with you. I feel like I've been drifting utterly rudderless and without motivation to do even basic things these past few weeks. At least I recognize that feeling for what it is and can believe that its highly unlikely to persist for much longer, but man it has been brutal.

i have hopes and would like to believe that you are good anyway and that, maybe, your gift day is not Christmas Day ๐Ÿค”?
take care

Also I think we should ask the original poster, "plu", plu@lemmy.ml https://lemmy.ml/u/plu ... (it seems i cannot get the link right) ... we should ask him (her?) what he (she?) got for Christmas.

A nice Raspberry Pi to tinker with and some socks. Funny how I'm so excited for new comfy socks when I used to hate them as kids

I don't celebrate Christmas, so I spent the holiday learning Linux-fu from Linux Journey. So I get...new knowledge I guess?

[โ€“] IngrownMink4@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

A new book, socks and underpants.

[โ€“] flbn@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

[โ€“] a_Ha@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

So a big bug's venomus bite ; this is not your best Christmas (understatement) i hope next year's will be better ๐Ÿ˜Œ i wish you to recover well, happy Christmas anyway ๐Ÿ˜…

[โ€“] X51@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

It wasn't big. It was smaller than most. Thankfully it didn't hurt very much. I'm not into the commercial aspect of Christmas, so I discourage people from buying me gifts. It's amazing how much stress it removes from your life to simply boycott the practice of buying, wrapping, and exchanging gifts.

[โ€“] greensand@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 years ago

funny socks

[โ€“] lionel@lemmy.coupou.fr 5 points 2 years ago

It seems I've been a good boy this year, got a nvme ssd and 32GB of RAM to upgrade my gaming rig and some macro lens and a SD card for my camera.

And you, what did you get?

[โ€“] starfish@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

Good book :)

[โ€“] SudoDnfDashY@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

[โ€“] ree@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

Gloves , a shirt and a bento box.

Offered myself new tools.

[โ€“] a_Ha@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Was it your first ? How do you cope ?
Using a kitchen kettle's steam myself to clean & humidify throat and nose. Camphor also has a bit of effect for me.

[โ€“] Jama@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

2nd, after the vaccine, so it will be easy. The worst thing is I have to stay at home through all the holidays...

[โ€“] pancake@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

A new pair of boxing gloves and a pair of normal gloves.

[โ€“] Seb3thehacker@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago

[โ€“] PP44@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

[โ€“] Count042@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Got my tonsils out the day before, then a trip to the ER when it hemorrhaged at 11 P.M. culminating in a second surgery that got me home at 5:30 A.M.

So, one way to look at it, I got my life.

[โ€“] a_Ha@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Was covid causing the need for tonsils's removal ?
May I suggest a song : "Aguas de marco" from : Stan Getz.
Let's stay alive and together, cheers, take care ๐Ÿค—

[โ€“] Count042@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 years ago

Thanks!

Nope, not Covid, just got it down near Christmas since because of Covid, I wasn't going to travel to see my family.
