I have been working as a programmer in test at my current job for about 2 years and haven't received a raise. Long story short I said I was open to new opportunities on LinkedIn, interviewed, and got an offer for $12,500 more than what I currently make.

If you're not happy with your compensation I suggest taking a look elsewhere. It's a worker's market, at least in the US.
