When I try to subscribe with a remote account (I am on peertube.social) I get this error:

Cannot fetch information of this remote account

Is there a fix to that, or some other way to subscribe?

I think it is because you are subscribing to the account. On Peertube, an account can have multiple channels. So try to subscribe only to a channel and not to the account who owns the channel.

Go to the account page and then subscribe to the channel.

It should actually work to subscribe to the whole user, even from a remote instance, but yeah, I have found that sometimes only one of them will load properly.

Thanks, but that's not it, both "subscribe to a channel" and "subscribe to all channels" result in an error message

I have the same error on tilvids.com, trying to subscribe to some remote accounts (not all, and seemingly independent of the remote instance).

Most of the time, I was able to work around it by issuing the request to subscribe to a specific channel instead of the whole user or vice versa.

If it then has loaded on your instance, then you can navigate to whatever you actually wanted to subscribe to and subscribe to it.

Nothing works for me.

And I can't even add it manually in my subscription list since there is no option for that.

Maybe it's my instance. I will make an account on another one later and try again

Is it only one remote account that you tried subscribing to?

There was one account (https://share.tube/a/hexdsl/video-channels) that I couldn't manage to subscribe to at all, because neither the account-subscribe nor the channel-subscribe worked.

I was able to subscribe to e.g. this account, though: https://share.tube/a/chriswere/video-channels

Thanks. In my case it's on all channels/accounts unfortunately
