In Discovery they explicitly show it going full Q when testing Georgiou, so it's entirely possible it allowed people to do stupid stuff as a test or a lesson.
I consider Discovery more of a fever dream than canon.

This place is really turning into the Star Trek subreddits with this circlejerk of "Nah not canon". Really starting to enjoy my time less and less and wondering why I'm even staying around this place when so many toxic (and frankly homophobic) takes there have been lately.
Edit: To clarify, no. Of course you're not being homophobic. I just mean that the energies listed above are becoming more pervasive and I'm just tired of this disingenuous behavior followed up immediately with "Oh nah I was just kidding, I wasn't being serious." I didn't come here to dump an essay on Discovery so I'll just say I really don't appreciate being lumped in with homophobes because I don't like a particular iteration of the star trek universe as much as you do.

Threshold teaches us that star trek can be both.
I can't understand why everyone hates Discovery. It's so much fun. It has good story. It has some great characters. Why does everyone bag it out on here?
