replaces The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Good news everyone!

That was not a good show. Craig Ferguson was (and in my opinion still is) the king of late late night though.

In my opinion Ferguson was better. By a lot. I really like Conan but Ferguson was exemplary.

I completely agree. I do think it's worth noting that for me when I say better I'm not saying it in a quality or quantifiable sense, but in my subjective sense. In terms of skill or talent or whatever you want to call it, I think they are on the same level, but for my specific tastes Craig is just more enjoyable for me.

I’m about the other way around, I think Craig is incredibly talented and funny, but Conan puts me on the floor with regularity

As much as I love Conan, and enjoyed Conan's comedic style more than Ferguson's, I feel like Craig did better interviews.

[–] ChrisLicht@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

I like Conan, but his interview skills are nowhere near Ferguson’s.

Seth Myers’s work during COVID lockdown reminded me of the fever dream nature of Ferguson. He’s still my favorite of the current late night hosts. He dresses a bit more casually than the others, is happy to share the stage with his writers in various bit, and his political commentary & news coverage is on point.

He's much, much better now than when he started.

But that means there is a wild, rampaging James Corden on the loose. He could appear anywhere!

[–] AngryHumanoid@reddthat.com 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Can we please deport him to Canada?

[–] aturtlesdream@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

No, don't drag us into this mess. And he already went back to the UK, so hopefully, we will hear a lot less from him!

Ooo... she is very good, that seems like great news.

[–] bmsok@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago

Phenomenal choice for sure.

[–] Dran_Arcana@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I loved @midnight and was sad to see it go. Hopefully it retains the same magic in modern-internet-era and it's not just nostalgia.

[–] IAmTheZeke@lemm.ee 1 points 10 months ago

Same. Will be pretty cool if they get good guests. I was introduced to some cool comedians that way

I feel so bad for X Mayo, a name — I assume — is associated with a human being.

[–] Seventhlevin@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

X Mayo. Formerly just Mayo.
