Yeah, but the parents created the fuck up to begin with. So who is really at fault?

[–] Croquette@sh.itjust.works 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

The parents. But still need to vent sometimes.

[–] Bonehead@kbin.social 6 points 11 months ago

Just like I told my father, you don't need to take it out on the fuck up.

Sometimes the parents do everything right, but the child isn't receptive. Also, there's psychological disorders that can make any kind of parenting futile.

great album, wish the lead singer wasn't a predator so I could listen to it shame free

This is a semi spicy take but hear me out. He went on for like 5 albums about what a lonely piece of shit he was and that no one loved him and he was a horrible person. He even alludes to being a predator in Science Fiction. I think the song is called, "in the water." While I would never condone what he did, his actions, in a way validate his music. Something that was often in doubt for me in that genre.

The line I'm referring too is, "hide your daughters, the old men say. We were young once before, we know how we get our way."

This is the exact argument I've made to my wife with varying degrees of success: we literally listened to him outright admit to how much of a piece of shit he is in his lyrics and it's weird to suddenly act like "omg! What a surprise!" when we've been singing his lyrics like "Me vs. Madonna vs. Everyone Else" off Deja Entendu since forever ago. And I'm generally pretty left-leaning with a low tolerance for rapey bullshit but come on guys.

Are you saying the Ice T, star of the Law & Order is actually a Cop Killer and those weren't just lyrics? Was David Bowie from space?
