According to the dev it will be possible to enable pro features on self-hosted instances once the sync server is open-sourced.
Oh yay, yet another notes app... Notes-up for one example already has notebooks, tagging and colors as well and is open source.
so you say it's a bad thing to have more Open Source competition in the notes app space? I for one find it very interesting compared to Foam, Obsidian and Zim-Wiki.
Logseq is also amazing
It asks to create an account to use backup/restore feature. I don't like this.
Apparently they also plan to open a self-hostable sync server this month.
This would be what I'm waiting for.
I simply want an offline use (backup/restore). My data must to be storable on a usb dongle. A backup like notesnook.zip with local encryption for backup file. Nothing else I ask. I don't need/want my data in cloud server. Not even if it were my own.
The entire shtick of this is that the server communication of it is e2e encrypted. If you don't want server syncing why are you even considering this?
just use org-mode with Emacs and Orgzly then.
