I'm glad they had the "grain of salt" section. Too often, some surprising number from a survey gets cherrypicked without properly exploring explanations that aren't inline with the news outlets' narrative.
Atheism
Those Christians and religious adore a god that forgives anything at the end (he basically asks you to believe in him), massacres the humanity if they don't follow his rules (with the excuse he's saving us) and let one of his sons die under torture in public. While the demon, who everyone hates and says he's so evil, he tortures the bad people on hell, he's the punisher but the "evil" or the "bad boy". The one who wanted the humanity to bite the apple and get knowledge as the snake was telling them to do. Knowledge saves a lot of lives, while ignorance is what keeps us unevolved.
Religion makes no sense, is used to mass control people. Most religions are very similar because it was born long time ago when we didn't have a language, we started to sing like birds do now. Each route or tribe had his song that described where they are placed or their stuff. The most popular song was the one that helped them to describe the astronomy (which helped them to travel around the world) and also described the weather (they didn't have any clock or calendar), when cold/hot temperatures are going to come by looking the starts for example. So as they couldn't explain most natural disasters, they started to give it a meaning. A meaning we don't need any more because we can study and prove scientifically.
And I don't want to mean the soul or spirits don't exist, it may exist as people experimented things that we can't explain, but that's about time to be able to scientifically prove there is something more.
True. Earlier when society were not organized, and science had not evolved religion was necessary. Earlier religion were used to keep people together so that they can fight natural calamities and also hunt wild animals. But later when society start organizing and start communicating with other society, this religious people who came to power, started corrupted their religion by illogical rules and their original motive to survive was changed to dominate other.
I heard we started to organize together when we started to make our own farm and animals to feed ourselves. Then, thanks that we were already a community, religion started.
idk, My Physics teacher used to say that earlier there were small groups of 2 to 3 people which used to hunt animals and collect food only for them. One day, one person(whom people call the God or the God's messenger) came and realize the importance of unifying all this group into one group(religion). For this the person used many manipulative tactics and fake incident to make people believe that if they follow my religion they will be able to survive these wild animals and as wild animals would not dare to attack a larger group, the attack on them decrease which make there follower believe the God has some mystical power. Later these followers were sent to convince other group to be part of their religion and so religion was spread.
Atheist understands that you should respect every religion while religious people always hate other religion and also their own people who want some freedom that's the reason we have less crime rate(atleast in terms of hate crime).
I've read some religious texts and I was not liking what I was reading. There is some of the most fucked up batshit stuff in religious texts.
I think it's better to respect the religious person and criticize the religion. Otherwise can't you say the same thing about liberalism or social democracy? Leftists shit on liberals, social democrats, anarchists all the time, they absolutely do not show the person any respect.
