"The problem is, when you're taking the plane anytime you want to go anywhere in the state and now all of a sudden you also have five to six people flying with you everywhere you go," said Campbell. “If you're going to take an entourage in a state plane, I think we at least deserve to know who it is that's flying on the state dime."

Why is the Governor of Arkansas flying to Europe on the state dime? Her vacations shouldn't be using state money, no one gives enough of a fuck about her to necessitate protection, and she's explicitly forbidden from negotiating international treaties by the Constitution.

I can't get over the way her spokesghoul frames the issue in terms of keeping the gov and her family safe. I know it's cynical posturing, but part of me wonders if a little projection is at play here.

Like they know the violence they're perpetrating on trans kids and women in Arkansas is evil. Like they know they deserve retribution for their actions.
