An Unethical Life Pro Tip (or ULPT) is a tip that improves your life in a meaningful way, perhaps at the expense of others and/or with questionable legality. Share your best tips you've picked up throughout your life, and learn from others!

ULPT Rules:

Tips must be unethical, tips that are ethical will be removed.
Tips must provide some benefit to you.
Post titles must begin with "ULPT" or "ULPT Request", and should be descriptive. The title should explain the gist of the ULPT without needing a description. Post that are walls of text will be deleted at the mods discretion.
No tips about rape, murder, suicide, or any tips that violate Geneva Convention laws.
No tip lists, each individual post should be about a single tip. This includes links to articles that list tips.

How can I mess with these displays if I get a Raspberry Pi and maybe Kali. What sort of things can I do? Preferably replace the image with a protest message.

The technical aspect of it shouldn’t be an issue but I’m just struggling for ideas really and some insight into how they operate.

If we are talking about road side billboard style advertisements then I expect those to be cellular.

You will probably have to do some searching on shodan to find the devices.

If I were them I shouldn’t allow remote access and only do a pull from the devices. But who knows.

If the signage is outside of a company I’d expect that to just be hardwired and running from something simple like an hdmi extender from an office computer.
