I used to work for a company. Later I went to one of their competitors and was hired to build an improved version of their software. Now that I am looking for a job they are saying they will create a job opening for me to meet what I said I need to leave my current job.

Sounds good good to be true I feel like there is going to be a catch. I have no non compete. And I know better than to share any sort of company secrets between them.

I really appreciate what they are doing if it does come through, but I want to make sure I am taking everything I should into consideration...

While the offer might be better now, remember the reasons you left the company in the first place. Unless the company underwent a large leadership change, you’ll be faced with the same issues you had originally. What is making you feel like it’s a trap? Congratulations on the new role regardless of what you take!

They actually did go under a large leadership change. It's kind of wild because my current company is going down the same path they were when I left lol. History repeats itself I guess

I just feel like there HAS to be a catch because it seems too good to be true that they are considering offering me exactly what I want. Just makes me think of the saying "if it seems too good to be true then it is". It doesn't make a lot of sense for them to hire me and then fuck me over though so idk
