Seems like API access will become monetized (like Twitter did it). This will probably kill off most third party apps if users are forced into subscriptions (see for example statement from Apollo)

Seems like both teddit and libreddit make use of the API, so probably yes. Maybe they will start scraping like NewPipe and Piped do.
