I'm curious if this is a common thing. For me there are many such games. I hardly play games at all anymore, and when I do it's mostly singleplayer indie titles. Yet for some reason I can't stop myself from engaging with a lot of games I used to play.

CS:GO for example. I haven't played it for years and have no real intention of coming back, yet I still find myself watching youtube videos, following the patch notes and engaging in online discussions. And it's far from the only example for me.

Any weirdos out there that do the same?

Magic the gathering. Stopped playing a long time ago, but still follow the meta and discuss on social media

This is the one for me too. Wasn't ever a dedicated player but got into following the scene because a classmate was competitive on the pro circuit way back.

I haven't played a game myself in ten years probably but still enjoy listening to the Limited Resources set review podcasts for some reason, and will watch an LSV draft video now and then.
