People often forget that nuclear, even though it's cleaner than coal and oil, is still a fossil fuel that has to be mined and causes lots of havoc and pollution at the mining sites. It's often swept under the rug together with waste storage.

very true, however while it shares many of the same risks nuclear still pollutes only a tiny fraction of what oil and coal do for the same power output.

that being said the future for solar and wind look bright as we discover better methods of recycling them to recover precious metals
