On a more serious note, I suspect that this is a part of the reason why we are seeing democracies failing all across the globe - the general populace is too selfish and short-sighted to do anything about what is coming, thus paving the way for people willing to make hard calls (even if at first they seem to be ignoring the climate situation, nonetheless what they pave the way to open up to likely seems like it could be gaining support due to this impending doom scenario looming over the horizon).
Like said...people are too short sighted. The people in charge will be long dead before shit really hits the fan.
Ecofascism, like fascism, is a dead end. They just accelerate the destruction. The climate is global, nobody is going to escape climate chaos while remaining on this planet.
I don't disagree with you, but the point is to not make more excuses for them. They need excuses because fascists hide monstrous intentions behind great PR. Don't do their work for them.
