this story is ridiculous and onion-like because they spent millions of dollars and years fear mongering about this, only for the president to go nvm it's actually not that big of a deal

I can't tell if this really means any change. Sounda like he is just passing the buck to Congress, which is better than actively seeking this transphobic policy, but it might also just be Trump being flippant. Who knows what he will do. Hope he actually just doesn't care.

I doubt it means anything will change, but I think he is signalling that this specifically is an issue that he doesn't really care about which is diverging from the wider Trump 2024 campaign, he almost certainly will still throw his support behind bans from the military and bans of trans youth care
