r/PoliticalCompassMeme background. Those colors are used for the two "libertarian" quadrants.

PCM was being run by Nazis to normalize fascist rhetoric.

Yes, it's a clear libertarian/anarchist unity message. I don't think the author was aware of the purpose of the PCM subreddit, you needed to be fairly terminally online to know what was happening on the Nazi-angle.

Generally speaking what it mostly did was populize the quadrant colors as political identification symbols and spread the shorthands. Red/blue=authleft/authright, green/yellow=libleft/libright, etc.
