Jerboa is fine, but it assumes the server you connect to is kept up to date. When 0.18 came out without CAPTCHA support (which is the only way to combat bots, really), a bunch of servers with open registration decided to wait until 0.18.1 came out which should include CAPTCHAs again.

In the mean time, everyone on these servers couldn't use Lemmy because of API issues.

I personally find other Lemmy apps to be better, but Jerboa does nothing wrong.

I think it's quite alright for an alpha. Pretty modern codebase too, if I'm not mistaken

There's Thunder (slick UI), Liftoff (best if you have multiple accounts), and connect (customizable). They are all pretty different so I'd just look at each of them and see what works for you.

I just installed Liftoff, and for an early access app, it's pretty decent
