This was a repeated and somewhat tired topic on Reddit as well. Until we see better tag systems that can distinguish between mild "implicated gore" (i.e. being able to tell the person on screen now likely being dead, despite the lack of visuals) and actual gore (starting with blood, to truly NSFL things like shredded former body parts), I think the NSFW / 18+ tag should be only used for the latter. Ideally there should also be a couple distinct ones for nudity & sex for better filter systems within people's account settings.
Until then, very sensitive people should just block communities like this and stick to purely news related ones. I come to places like this to follow this war closely, not through the washed out lens of some news article that does not do the brutality of it justice. I want to continue to understand what this war means instead of falling down the hole of apathy, because all I read about are just some words and numbers.
