Why don't we just let Twitter/X die? It's not like it's an essential platform, there are other places to post short-form bullshit opinions. Twitter/X is not the sole supplier of any resources except their own brand name. Just walk away and let it burn. Without massive public engagement, it's just a more expensive to run Truth Social.

Don't know why people keep asking this. It's a simple answer: the network affect. People are there because people are there.

Exactly, Twitter still has over 200 million DAU. Thread has about 30 million, Bluesky has less. Mastodon is worse.

Things like my city’s metro communication is still on Twitter. People aren’t going leave anytime soon.

Exactly. So if people stop going there, then there is no reason to go there. Full circle, people go there because they go there. Let's just stop fucking doing that.
