For messaging, I recommend Matrix.
For sailing on the high seas, I think I2P is good.
how do I use I2P ? I could never figure out how it works and it was so slow the last time I tried that I just gave up :(, I want to try it again
Download the exe and run it. If you are on linux, dowload the jar file and install java if you haven't done so yet, and run it with
