Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

What the title says. The higher the number of comments under a post, the more likely there will be an error. I see a post, it says "X number of comments", but when I go to the comments and count them, I notice is X -10 approx. Often more than that. Is there a reason for this comment count discrepancy?

EDIT: Turns out is the same using a browser, so apologies for presuming it was an app related issue. If the mods think this post needs to go- please go ahead and delete

Could this be because of federation/defederation? The post is in another instance than you and the comment is from an instance your instance has defederated from?

Update: i just did so. Jerboa says 28 comments for one post, but shows 18. From browser, Lemmy says and shows 18. So it doesn't look like a federation thing, especially since I wasn't logged in when using the browser.

Seems like a bug report to Jerboa might be in order 😄

Actually it might not be a Jerboa thing! It's the same on browser. I jumped the gun thinking it was the app

I considered that? Maybe I can check what I see from browser.

Another option I thought, perhaps edits get counted as new comments?
