Rep. Matt Gaetz was at a 2017 party with a 17-year-old girl at the heart of an alleged sex trafficking scandal, according to legal documents filed Thursday.

The filings cite affidavits based on three witness testimonies—which remain sealed—which put the Florida congressman at the party, according to Notus. One witness cited by the filings says the girl, a high school junior, was naked and said people were there to “engage in sexual activities” while drugs including cocaine and ecstasy were present.

The documents were filed by lawyers trying to recoup legal fees in a lawsuit filed by Chris Dorworth—a lobbyist friend of Gaetz’s who hosted the alleged party at his Florida home.

This shit right here is why the US is a complete joke. This sex trafficking and rape by Gaetz has been known for a loooonnnnggg time. He also had a DUI incident that Daddy’s money made go away.

Two levels of legal systems — one for the affluent/privileged and one for the plebeians. Rapist Gaetz still holds his office, Mr. subpoena ignoring Jim Jordan still holds his office, rapist and career criminal Donald Trump is the GOP’s vaunted nominee.

And every time we get someone on the hook as a ring leader (Epstein) or a reporter with information on the blatant corruption of our economy (Panama Papers|Daphne Anne Caruana Galizia) they end up dead and media coverage of the investigations go dark.

Then the people involved keep the noise to a minimum and the issues get swept away in the current of The Algorithm™.

Anyone who sees has been disenfranchised of the old avenues that assisted organizing local support networks that facilitated engagement in direct action. From the erasure of third spaces, to the oppressive cost of living, to the corporate controlled media, workplace culture to avoid "talking politics"(i.e. please don't unionize against the owners), and aggrandizing of unhealthy work-life-balance as something to be proud of instead of angry at, etc, etc, etc....

The US owning class has its workers by the balls. They spent decades building a paradise of exploitation. Every small gain we fought for to be slowly undermined by subversive powers turning us against each other and our own interest.
