Order direct from restaurants wherever possible. Tip your delivery person in cash. Look for restaurants that offer a cash discount for pickup orders and do that instead. I saved 10% on sushi tonight by taking the 15 minutes to pick it up myself. Alternately, get out of the house and go to the restaurant in person if that's feasible.

These companies only survive by making things slightly more convenient while burning exorbitant amounts of cash. If you're here in the fediverse then you probably already know what enshittification is, and that means you should be able to predict exactly how the delivery service platform model is going to play out. Now that borrowing actually costs something these companies they will start enshittifying in short order. You could argue they have been for some time, especially if you're on the delivery or restaurant end of the transaction. They'll likely start squeezing customers even more soon. So be smart. Don't be part of the problem, don't integrate these platforms into your routine, and you won't miss them when they inevitably collapse.
