Hi everyone! I've been using Jellyfin (and Findroid) for quite some time and I really love it. I'm constantly contemplating how incredible it is to be able to self-host such a cool project!

The little itch I want to scratch now is having a client for laptops with an offline mode feature, similar to what Findroid offers for android. Does anyone know of such a client? It would be awesome for train/plane trips to no longer have to manually copy the files over for offline playing!

You can download movies and shows right from the webUI, (as file downloads in the browser) but aside from that, there's not been much work on syncing stuff for offline play.

That's something only Plex ever thoroughly implemented, and before you consider setting it up for this purpose, it's apparently buggy as hell nowadays.

I've had some small luck with this feature on Emby. The download will, most likely, be just a file put somewhere specific, but Emby also has a Windows client that works like the webUI but can access and initiate/view downloaded content.

Same warning though, haven't tried and might well be garbo. Tread lightly, good luck!
