For those that use the Signal messenger, Langis is just Signal without Google Play services.

Any reason to use it over matrix/element?

I use it for transferring files and messages between my phones, and it uses Session ID instead of phone number, which is good for privacy.

However using Session is different than using Matrix/Element, I think Element is still your first choice if you want to communicate with Matrix user.

I use Element with my self hosted signal bridge. Works nice as well
