I'm new to this fediverse stuff and I'm loving this concept. Now I want to try pixelfed. can someone recommend me an instance for me? (vlemmy.net)

I'd like to login on an instance that doesn't block other instances and I get to decide what and what not I want to see

That is the case, but in the pixelfed app, you essentially get 3 timelines, federated which shows everyone across all instances, local which shows people on your instance and following which shows the people you're following.
